ODV was originally started by Michael S O'Flaherty in 1946 in the centre of Adelaide on King William Street. In 1970 the firm known as M.S. O'Flaherty moved to Mile End, in 1977 he was joined by his cousin Norm O'Flaherty.

The business continued to grow over the years with the arrival of Alex Donnelly (ex ATO) as a partner in 1989 as the firm's founder Michael O'Flaherty retired. Romeo Vella (ex ATO) joined shortly after and progressed to partner in 1992. In 1995 the firm moved to its own purpose built offices at 61 Henley Beach Road, Mile End.

Trevor Stirling established ODVS Financial Services* in 1993 and was joined by Darren Cheek in 2001. The business continues to provide trusted Insurance and Investment services.

Frank Scarfo a long term employee was admitted as a partner in 2001, followed by Rena Taylor in 2003. During 2003 Alex Donnelly retired as did Norm O'Flaherty the following year. Although both Norm & Alex retired as partners, they are still friends of the firm.
On 1st July 2010 Eddy Bin, who was a senior accountant with the firm for five years was admitted as a partner and the most recent partner to join ODV is Michael Quan in 2014.

The Practice also has nine qualified Accountants, an Auditor, a Para planner and a Policy & Client Administration Officer. ODV is supported by four administration personnel whom look after the smooth running of the office.

Lee Squeo joined the practice in 2011, and is the Director of ODV Lending and provides mortgage & lending services.
