ODV Accountants was originally started by Michael S O'Flaherty in 1946 in the centre of Adelaide on King William Street. In 1970, the firm known as M.S. O'Flaherty moved to Mile End.  Michael O’Flaherty was then joined by his cousin Norm O'Flaherty in 1977.

The business continued to grow over the years with the arrival of Alex Donnelly as a partner in 1989, as the firm's founder Michael O'Flaherty retired. Romeo Vella joined shortly after and progressed to partner in 1992. The partnership of O’Flaherty, Donelly & Vella formed the name of ODV Accountants. The firm then moved to its own purpose-built office at 61 Henley Beach Road, Mile End in 1995 where ODV Accountants is still located today.

Frank Scarfo was admitted as a partner in 2001 then Rena Taylor was admitted as a partner in 2003 following the retirement of Alex Donnelly and Norm O'Flaherty.

In 2010, Eddy Bin was admitted to partnership status followed by Michael Quan in 2014. Romeo Vella and Rena Taylor retired shortly thereafter and remained active with the firm as consultants for a number of years. All retired partners remain friends of the firm.

The newest addition to the partnership is Hendra Lamlo who became partner in 2022.  

Since 1946, ODV Accountants has retained its original core value of providing professional financial services with a genuine personal approach. This is reflected in the many generations of existing clients that ODV Accountants continue to service today.
