G’Day Footy Tipsters
Footy Footy Footy, Oh, how frustrating can it be? We ride the ups and downs and with only 4 rounds to go before the finals begin, you guys and gals that are lucky enough to have your teams in the finals most you will keep on riding this rollercoaster.
Let's have a look at the games to come.
Richmond v Geelong
It actually looks like a cracker of a weekend of footy with at least 6 being of good standard and this is the cracker to start it off.
Most people now just say, (and rightly so) Its at the MCG and that’s game over. So do I need to say anymore? Geelong their claws are out and I am not saying this because their claws are out to fight the Big cats but because they are actually hanging on in the top 8 with them. The Geelong cats are meant to have the greatest trio the game has ever seen in the middle and they have got a guy up front who has kicks a couple of bags of late. With this though I cant see them break this dominance the Tigers have at the G.
Tigers 23 pts
Hawthorn v Essendon
Oh yeah this is another beauty. Both these sides are in a fight for the 8 and the winner may well sneak into that 8th spot. Hawks had a training run last week and Essendon just quietly went about their business. I was blown away last week when 11th side Essendon went up against 4th side Sydney and were booky favourites. Up until the game I kept saying “BUT WHY?” well they certainly proved to me why didn’t they? They have actually won 8 of the last 10 now. Very sneaky Bombers. They may even sneak another.
Bombers 11 pts
Brisbane vs North Melbourne
Oh yes again how good this could be. Roos jumped out of their box last week whilst the Lions went in their cave for a rest. After a few weks of playing some great footy they finally had a downer last week while the Roos have had many a downer and jumped out of the box for a change. I have thinking the Roo will disappear again and the Lions will roar at home. And I hope the knob I sat behind at the Gabba a couple of weeks ago has made up with his Mrs.
Lions 36 pts
Adelaide vs Port Adelaide
Oh yes here we go, there is nothing better on the calendar season than this game and no rivalry of any sides in the AFL come close. Just look at it this will be number 45. They have played each other 44 times and the ledger is 22 a piece. You tell me any record in the world between 2 clubs that would come close to this. Just amazing. What can I tell you about this game apart from it again will be a classic, oh and yes of course that the Crows will win!!!!!
Crows 78 pts
St Kilda vs Western Bulldogs
One of the few games this week that has no interest to me or most this week. Mums and Dads yes.
The winner will be the one that actually decides they want to play well this week. Which one though is they question. Heads Saint’s, Tails Dogs and as I throw up a 5o cent coin, heads it is.
Saint to win by a mystery amount
Sydney v Collingwood
This will be one of the games of the round, not to be missed. Swans have dropped from 4th to 9th after losing 4 from their past 5. Whilst Collingwood sit 9th and lost to Richmond last week. 12 knee operations and 5 reconstructions later we see Alex Johnson make his much-anticipated return to AFL since the 2012 Grand Final. The Swans have been shocking at the SCG so perhaps Johnson’s return will provide the inspiration the Swans need to win this one. Are Collingwood’s injuries catching up with them or will they sneak the win here? .. this game is definitely a coin toss for me … the return of Kieren Jack & Jarrad McVeigh top the scales to Sydney’s way for me... just.
Swans by 3pts
Carlton v Greater Western Sydney
Carlton fans rejoiced last week winning their second game of the season. Unfortunately for the Blues, they play the AFL’s love child this week who took their opportunities and made their team a power house unlike the Suns. Since the Giants have got their star players back they have won their last 7 of 8 and this week welcome back Jeremy Cameron back. Cover your eyes Carlton fans this could get messy.
Giants by 80pts
Melbourne v Gold Coast
Tom Lynch has announced he will be leaving the Gold Coast so you can see them slipping further and further down the ladder next year. Melbourne have had 2 close finishes the last 2 weeks, so this week allows Dee fans to breathe easy.
Dees by 49pts
West Coast v Fremantle
The Western Derby finishes off round 20. Both teams are coming off a loss last week and boy did the Eagles struggle to score without Kennedy?! The Eagles have won the last 6 Derby’s making it the second longest winning streak since Freo entered the comp in 1995. This will be close until 3qtr time until the Eagles kick away in the last qtr.
Eagles by 29pts
Enjoy your weekend guys and gals. Remember if you have been a weekly winner drop on into our office and collect your prize. As always Go Crows!
