Round 21 is upon us, leaving us with only 2 rounds of footy left after this week. Crazy how quick this year has gone!! We saw a lot of controversy last weekend with ‘Siren Gate’, THAT score review and Gaff losing his mind and getting 8 games (which probably wasn’t enough).
Let’s have a look at what fun this round brings!
Essendon v St Kilda
Big Friday night footy is on for show again this week!!! (Yawn) oh how the Gil got it so wrong this year. Look back a year or so and Essendon were imploding, and St Kilda were on the way back up. Jake Carlisle says “nup I am getting out of here and head to greener pastures” well tonight he plays his old side for the first time and he is now with a side who is imploding playing against a side that is on the way back up. Whoops!
Bombers 37 pts
Hawthorn V Geelong
The Cats sometimes can and sometimes can’t and that is win a close game. One thing for sure though they seem to be specialties of close games so fair to think this will be another. Hawks have been in quite good touch lately and are continuing on a good roll. This is probably the game of the weekend so I am looking forward to it. Who will win, well I will just go with the side higher on the ladder.
Hawks 4 pts
Gold Coast v Richmond
Hahaha I read somewhere that Richmond are holding an open training session up in Gold Coast this week and they are putting on a free sausage sizzle for anyone that wishes to attend. Made me giggle.
Tigers 127 pts
Port Adelaide v West Coast Eagles
I seriously have heard too much about the Eagles this week and honestly I always hear too much about Power every week. Both sides been complaining about a hit this week. It’s like when you see that promotion commercial over and over again on TV about a new show coming up and you have seen it so much by the time it comes on you are just so bored with the show and don’t even want to watch it. I will watch though with a little interest because there is an expectation of rain, storms, winds and that is always fun to see. Not the players playing in it but the crowd watching it.
Eagles 7 pts
Collingwood v Brisbane
Last time these 2 teams met it was a score fest and Collingwood only just won by 7 points. Brisbane have improved A LOT and are not playing like a 16th placed team. Both these teams should have won last week. I almost want to tip an upset here but its in Melbourne and De Goey is back so I think the Pies just get the wood over this game.
Pies by 15pts
Greater Western Sydney v Adelaide
The Giants flogged Carlton last week with 16 guys on the field. The Crows Showdown victory was OH SO satisfying, even more so hearing Hinkley and Kochie whinging about it for the following 3 days. Ha ha. The AFL really know how to draw big crowds to games, I bet they though who WOULDN’T want to travel to Canberra and sit in 3 degree weather to watch a football game?!?! This will be a great fight and the Crows have a great record over the Giants, plus Giants got a couple of injuries last week with Deledio and Greene not playing, my money is on those Crowwies.
Crows by 5pts
North Melbourne v Western Bulldogs
I hope the Bulldogs win this week just to keep the fight for 7th and 8th spot on the ladder interesting. If the Bulldogs that beat the Saints (yes I know beating St Kilda isn’t that impressive) come out to play we might just have a competitive game on our hands. If not it will be an easy win for the Roo’s.
Roos by 32pts
Melbourne v Sydney
The Dees are last year’s Port. They haven’t beaten any side in the top 8 this year. Melbourne will be tested this week taking on Sydney. The Swans have had a form slump of late and just managed to beat the Pies (ruining my tips in the process) and they have only lost one away game this year. Should be a ripper game – coin toss..
Dees by 10pts
Fremantle v Carlton
Is it even worth talking about this game?? I don’t even think Carlton or Fremantle fans are going to bother watching this.
Dockers by 22pts
Have a good weekend and stay safe. Go Crows!
